Sonam Kapoor has made more headlines with her flair for fashion than her choice of films. It is no wonder then that the style icon has topped People’s Best Dressed List for 2009.

Sonam Kapoor doesn’t stick to a particular style. She wears short dresses, skirts, gowns, jumpsuits, salwar-kurtas, churidaar-kurtas and pants with blouses, among other things. Her make up is always perfect and her long tresses are secured in a ponytail, braided or left loose. She loves gladiators, flats and high heels. Alberta Ferreti, Marios Schwab, Christian Dior, Anamika Khanna, Sabyasachi, Tarun Tahiliani, DvF, Alexander McQueen, Manish Arora are brands she wears often. She has walked the ramp for Tarun Tahiliani and Anamika Khanna.

Elle, Femina, L’Officiel, Harper’s Bazaar, Filmfare, Marie Claire and People are some of the magazine covers she has graced more than once. Surprisingly, the most stylish actress who even gives models a run for her money has never been featured on Vogue.

Deepika Padukone with her (usually) bad sense of style hasn’t made it to the list. Second on the list is the unmatched Kareena Kapoor who swears by Manish Malhotra (for traditional wear) and Roberto Cavalli (animal print dresses and shirts), next is hottie Priyanka Chopra who loves showing off her long legs and slender shoulders in mini dresses. She loves wearing sandals from Jimmy Choo. Star wife Twinkle Khanna who is always well turned out in brands like Badgley Mischka with Fendi and Gucci bags, makes it to the fourth place. Katrina Kaif with her unreliable sense of fashion, made it to the fifth place. She always looks gorgeous but dresses well only once in a blue moon.

Surprsisingly, quirky and willowy fashion slave Kangna Ranaut who dresses like a supermodel in brands like Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Bebe, Herve Leger, D&G and Burberry didn’t make it to the list. We think she should have pipped Katrina Kaif to the spot.
