The ‘Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan on Oprah’ episode aired recently in the US. We tell you what their first television interview as a couple it was all about.

Glorifying Aishwarya, who was resplendent in a Sabyasachi saree, Oprah called her the most beautiful woman, mentioning she has 5 billion fans and multi-million dollar endorsement campaigns. She also said that Ash makes 15 million per movie, as much as Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts. Ash actually makes about 5 crore rupees per movie.

As for Abhishek, she said he has done 40 films, which is more than Tom Cruise. And revelaed that unlike Hollywood stars, they stay at home with the Bachchan family.

The audience was predominantly Indian and never ceased cheering.

Abhi revealed how he proposed to Ash in the balcony of his hotel room in New York. Oprah showed some footage of the chaos outside his house on their wedding day. They spoke about elaborate Indian weddings and festivals. Oprah was curious to know about the wedding tradition, and Ash and Abhi happily explained. Both Abhi and Ash had an American accent and Ash couldn’t stop giggling. Oprah was curious about how they could reside with his parents, and they told her how it worked for them.

Ash didn’t say much, but her giggles made up for it. Abhishek was composed and witty, making everyone laugh. He said being married to the ‘most beautiful woman on the world’ was pleasant and beautiful, and he couldn’t believe how beautiful she looked even in the morning.

The power couple also spoke about living their life in the public glare and the constant pressure of being huge celebrities.

An American-Indian dance troupe called The Duniya Dancers who danced to Balle Balle from Bride and Prejudice. Oprah had a surprise in store for them. Ash and Abhi were hiding backstage and they came out and hugged them. The girls couldn’t believe their luck. The show was part of Oprah’s ‘Meet The Most Famous People in the World’ special.
